FAMILY DINNER

CW: NONE, WARN IN SUBJECT

When Raíz visits, everyone is expected to show up for family dinner a few days later. That's how long you have to show up at the HQ mansion, no matter where you are in the world, no matter how busy or disinclined you are to make an appearance. If you're not there by the time is begins, Raíz will simply show up wherever you are, pick you up and materialize the both of you back at the mansion, tacking on a year or two to your contract.. Everyone is also expected to behave; starting trouble during dinner just gets you mind controlled into behaving to a Stepford Wife degree of compliance.

Since Raíz won't be played ICly, feel free to play this prompt before or after dinner itself takes place. Maybe your character is coming 'home' after a long time away, maybe they're getting ready to leave after it's done, maybe they've decided to stay a few more days or they're just going back to their routine if they already live in the mansion. Play it out as the before or after of any massive family reunion where you're happy to be there or can't wait to get the hell out.

OUT ON A MISSION

From 007 to SCP, Blood Pact missions can vary between retrieving information, retrieving some ancient artifact, fighting full out monsters or even saving the world from some apocalyptic event. Let your imagination dictate the type of mission your characters are on and why they've been paired up. It can be a thread where they're getting briefed, or en route, or staying at some motel, or entering the lair of a beast that can behead them with a single bite if they're not careful. From the banal to the paranormal, Raíz's agents are ready for (almost) anything mom tells them to do. Well - mom lets Great Dane know what she wants them to do, and he's in charge of passing on the message.

HALLOWEEN PARTY

Cellar Spider, much to Great Dane's annoyance, has decided to throw a Halloween party at the mansion! Everyone in the Blood Pact is free to join, and hey - if they really want to, they can even bring a plus one. (Why would you do that, though.) Blue organized the meticulously arranged sweets, Red carved a lot of pumpkins (like a lot), Monarch assembled the playlist, Velvet brought the moonshine, Moon made sure everything looked fucking amazing, and Salamander spiked the punch. Costumes are in fact mandatory! Raíz will not be appearing because she's busy being an eldritch abomination in some other dimension.

[ And then they dart down, back to her punch. ]

Just waiting until it feels right to leave.

To his introduction, she smiles, perhaps for the first time this night. ]

Oh- oh. It's...kind of cute. I didn't even know rats could be fancy.

Hey, they have fancy pigeons, why not fancy rats? Anyway, everyone calls me Mouse. I think because I'm what the kids call "a short king."

[He's only 5'5, but the 'king' part is highly debatable.]

[ She wants to argue against that nonsense he's spouting, but Mouse is the first person to speak with her tonight and he doesn't feel like a serial killer, so she'll let him have it. She simply lowers her raised hand and sighs. ]

I don't know? Maybe? Raíz, she... talked. A lot. And then my head exploded.

...wow. Exploded? That hurts like hell.

It was- well, it was weird. Started with a headache, and then I just felt really bad. Then my nose started bleeding. I don't remember the actual explosion.

[ She shudders. ]

Something about my power needed a few limits for now.

What the hell do you do? Just, uh. In case of more head explosions.

Oh I- she said I copy powers. At first I was copying and using every power at the same time, and my body couldn't take it. Now I can only use one at a time.

[ She shrugs, hands going up too. ]

Not that I know what anyone does, so I'm trying to just sit here and don't make a mess.

Ohhhh. Okay. Yeah, then you're safe with me, kid. I don't do explosions.

[ Fancy seems to debate with herself for a moment before she lifts a hand, squinting at it. She then touches her nose.

Mouse should be feeling the touch, though. ]

Well... It still hurts, but yeah, I don't really suffer the effects.

[He scrunches his face and laughs.]

[ Fancy laughs, and the sheer shock of hearing her laughter in god knows how long makes her gasp. She also stops poking her nose, because she's still scared of the implications of having such a power. ]

Oh that- that would get uncomfortable really quickly.

[ Still, she beams at Mouse. Good job dude, she thinks you're pretty okay. ]
