brief history:
— aimless drifter who works random jobs, gets into scrapes, doesn't think about the long term
— grew up somewhere vaguely suburban in northern UK to a pretty standard working class family. went to a shitty school with shitty friends and lived on a street in shouting distance of like four different footy pitches & a greggs, that kind of vibe
— the oldest of 3 boys and 2 girls. all his younger siblings found their niches and fucking excel at them, while he's basically like, "well shit i guess my niche is lifting them up and protecting them (asks for money, asks for money, starts a fight, apologizes, beats someone up under the assumption they were a dick to his younger sibling and he wants to show them he's their big brother and they can always count on him, goes to court for assault, apologizes, punches the bailiff, asks for money for bail, apologizes, yells obscenities on facebook)"
— dated the same girl since highschool. got dumped in a pretty humiliating way that stuck, unlike the other dozen breakups they'd had. he's still hung up on her out of wounded pride more than anything.
— makes an Extremely stupid wish in a moment of desperation that he figured out immediately and refuses to divulge

personality traits:
— always fights when the fight or flight instinct kicks in, but he's insecure about himself so that instinct kicks in A Lot
— secretly always felt not enough/small/stupid and has constantly chased the unattainable socially enforced goals a straight(?) man in his demographic is supposed to chase. lots of gym nights and protein powder and extremely exaggerated stories.
— refuses any form of introspection beyond "this is bad, probably not gonna fix it"
— even tho he thinks with his fist or his dick before his brain he's extremely loyal, protective and has a soft heart
— does not understand nuance. or subtlety. or any kind of strategy or tact or delicate emotional moment. just wings everything either smiling or beating ass.
— honestly wants the best for himself and the people around him, but because he inherently believes the people around him are either pricks or better than him in every way, he gets in his own way when it comes to doing what he can.
— a really good guy who presents as a shallow douche. himbo covered in a glaze of unlikeability
— he wants to be unforgettable, thus memory powers

what you can expect from this character:
— awkward social missteps (learned about queer people from rob schneider movies so he assumes everyone is straight/cis including himself lol lol lol lol i dont write straight people lol. dated language/assumptions about things. misinterprets innocent comments/criticism as insults so he'll get defensive about nothing.)
— actually really charming, insightful moments when he's not getting in his own way. sparks of brilliance that are either emotional rather than intellectual or like, are moments of peak idiot savant shit.
— vulnerability as well as a protective, easy intimacy when he likes you.
— just a guy doing his best. always willing to learn as long as he isn't made to feel stupid. he'll probably like you from the jump but he's his own worst enemy so who knows if that'll go anywhere.
