name: Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko, but Raíz shortened to Satanic Gecko. Probably goes by Gecko.

when did they start the pact: 1958
nationality/languages: Korean-Chinese. Korean, Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese), Russian, English, dabbles in a smattering of others.

powers:

Empathy: Fairly self explanatory. She knows what you're feeling, and she can make you feel whatever she wants. Has an effective range of a few miles, and she's actively keeping it as small as possible the entire time, since she gets horrible headaches if she's tuned into too many people. She can "zero in" a person, specially if she can touch them, to the point she can cause long term alterations to the way they process emotions. She also has to guard herself from other's emotions, and it's not uncommon for her own feelings to be influenced by the "general mood" around her, which can cause her a bit of an identity crisis. Very fun to be around when in a good mood, very dangerous when she's in a bad one.

brief history:

  • Part of a North Korean-Chinese secret project to raise their personal batch of killers to employ both before and during the Cold War.

  • Gecko was immediately picked due to being born with prosopagnosia aka "face blindness," making her a perfect candidate to mold into an impersonal, unfeeling agent. She also couldn't describe her handlers, making her "safe" to employ by different officials.

  • Top of her class, was widely used during the Cold War by both countries, to great success. Spent the better part of a decade travelling around, killing whoever she was ordered to. She was perhaps a little too good, though, and a little too detached from notions of nationalism.

  • Was set to be disposed of by the tail end of the decade as she was too dangerous, well informed and not as loyal as desired. Being on the losing side and a "loose end" didn't help her situation, either.

  • Willing to take her death pretty nonchalantly up until when Raíz showed up with an offer. While she didn't have any particular feelings in the matter, curiosity got the better of her, and accepted.

  • Has spent the consequent decades drifting around, doing as she's told and racking up a considerable fortune as a contract killer.

  • Still, lives in the mansion because it's less people to filter.

  • ???

  • Damn, where did the time go.


personality traits:

  • Highly impersonal at first, since she can't tell if her feelings are her own half the time.

  • Does try to be at least a bit affectionate with her "little siblings" aka all of you.

  • Will inadvertently mirror your mood, or make you mirror her mood every now and then. She can prevent this but it takes effort. You'll know she cares if she tries.

  • The deadpan snarker, to the point it might be quite difficult to know if she's serious sometimes.Hint, she's rarely completely serious.

  • Doesn't lie for fun. She lies out of boredom.

  • Really, really enjoys having sex. Will have sex with you, if you want to. Might or might not make you want to, if you ask nicely (or not so nicely). Has probably tried every kink known to man, or is at least trying to catch 'em all.

  • Buys everyone accessories, clothes, cologne and perfumes, since she mainly recognizes people by their clothes and scent.

  • Doesn't mention her condition, but it's a well known fact. Hates when people try to take advantage of it. You don't want her to be mad at you.
